Analysis on fissure-evolving law and roof-falling mechanism in roadway with mudstone roof

Through the deformation monitoring in roadway of one coal mine, general law of deformation and failure was summarized;fissure-evolving law and fracture characteristics of mudstone roof in the conditions of different water were researched by detecting roof-drillings;based on this, mechanism of roof-falling was researched. The results show that, fissures evolve from the superficial to the deep until being saturated, preventing micro fissure zone evolves to be fractured zone and avoiding fractured zone developing outside of anchorage zone are the key to ensure the stabilization of roadways with mudstone roof and water. Accordingly, control technology system for different zones in various roofs was built, including high performance bolt supporting, prestressed anchor strengthening and grouting reinforcement technology, the system was applied in engineering practice successfully.
