In the title compound, [Mn(2)Ni(C(17)H(14)Br(2)N(2)O(2))(2)(CN)(4)( H(2)O)(2)] or [{Mn(C(17)H(14)Br(2)N(2)O(2))(H(2)O)}(2)(mu-CN)(2){Ni(CN)(2)}], each Mn(III) atom is chelated by a Schiff base ligand via two N and two O atoms and is additionally coordinated by a water molecule to give a slightly distorted octahedral geometry. Two such Mn(III) ions are linked by a square- planar Ni(CN)(4) unit, which lies on an inversion centre. A two-dimensional network is formed by O-H center dot center dot center dot O and O-H center dot center dot center dot N hydrogen bonds.
