Two- and four-channel-incoherent multiple input multiple output system operating over multimode fiber

This article presents realization of two- and four-channel-incoherent multiple input multiple output systems operating over 4.4 km of 50-mu m core silica multimode fiber.The system featured 1/2QPSK modulation, 10 Mbit/s per channel, sampling of the received signals, and off-line postprocessing. The quality of the received signals was acceptable only for 2 X 2 system, whereas for 4 X 4 system some channels experienced temporary fading.
