摘要

This paper theoretically analyzes the harmonic rejection performance of a harmonic rejection mixer with the amplitude mismatch and phase imbalance errors. These mismatch errors are not avoidable in practice and an odd harmonic signal will be generated, causing interference due to harmonic mixing. This paper focuses on clarifying how the errors influence the harmonic rejection of a mixer. A mathematical formula is explicitly derived in order to provide accurate harmonic rejection estimation. The system's specifications limited the tolerances of the mismatch for the phase and amplitude determined which can be determined by the system simulations in the design. Based on the analysis, the compensation method is proposed for the amplitude mismatch and the phase imbalance.
