摘要
Recent experimental and theoretical investigations have indicated that the topological features of jets can be significantly altered by interactions with the medium. Prime candidates for such a modification are (a) excitation of a Mach Cone in the medium and (b) flow induced deflection of the jet. Here we show that 3-particle correlations are able to distinguish between these different modification scenarios. An application of the method to Au+Au collisions at RHIC (root s(NN) - 200 GeV) yields results which are consistent with but not exclusive to the Mach cone scenario.
