摘要

This manuscript provides a comparative analysis of metal dissolution method of metal dissolution method (Fe-0) based on spontaneous corrosive processes and the electrocoagulation method in the process of phosphorus compounds removal from brewery wastewater. Differences were demonstrated in the effectiveness of both methods and in changes of selected parameters of treated wastewater (total iron content, pH value, redox potential, and total suspended matter content). Additional costs linked with the use of electrocoagulation (higher costs of energy and faster wearing out of electrodes) and the metal dissolution method (longer contact time) were mentioned as well.
