A Cationic Bis(phosphiniminomethanide) Europium(II) Complex

The ionic Eu(II) complex [CH(PPh(2)NSiMe(3))(2)]-EU(THF)(3)]BPh(4) was synthesized via the salt elimination reaction of [{CH(PPh(2)NSiMe(3))(2)]Eu(mu-I)(THF)](2) and NaBPh(4) in CH(2)Cl(2). Subsequent reactions led to the Eu(II) compounds [{CH(PPh(2)NSiMe(3))(2)}(2)Eu] and [{CH(PPh(2)NSiMe(3))(2)}Eu(THF){N(PPh(2))(2)}].
