摘要
Amino substituted 2,4-diphenyl quinoline has been synthesized by Friedlander condensation of 2-aminobenzophenone and 4-aminoacetophenone at 140 A degrees C. The material has been characterized by optical properties such as absorption and photoluminescence measurements. The powder form of amino-diphenyl quinoline exhibits photoluminescence with emission maximum at 486 nm when excited at 385 nm. Two absorption peaks are observed due to conjugated side and pi-pi* transition of conjugated main chains. Amino diphenyl quinoline may be considered as a promising candidate for a blue fluorescent emitter in acidic and basic media.
