Nd10Fe80-xNbxB10 (x=0 similar to 6) amorphous ribbons were prepared by melt-spun and then the nano-crystal magnetic alloys were obtained by vacuum annealing processes. Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM) was used to analyze the magnetic properties and exchange coupling effect between Nd2Fe14B and alpha-Fe phases in the alloys. The results show that the appropriate addition of Nb can decrease the average grain size of Nd2Fe14B and alpha-Fe phases and thus effectively enhance the exchange coupling effect between the two phases, therefore improving the magnetic properties of the alloys. When Nb=4at%, the optimum magnetic properties are obtained as following H-cj=936.02 kA/m, B-r=0.91 T and (BH)(max)=125.86 kJ/m(3).
