摘要

This paper proposes a new multi-directional subpixel rendering technique that uses perception-based difference selection and adaptive weight generation for ultrasound imaging. Existing algorithms suffer from sampling errors that include color fringing artifact, which may lead to incorrect diagnoses of patients. In contrast, the proposed algorithm significantly reduces sampling errors while improving the apparent resolution. In particular, it calculates the absolute luminance difference in multiple directions and selects the minimum difference. Then, it adjusts the value based on human perception and adaptively controls the weights of current and neighboring subpixels. The experiment results show that the average luminance sharpness and average chrominance blending of the proposed algorithm significantly improve by up to 0.121 and 10.396 dB, respectively, compared to other conventional algorithms.
