Data compression method based on wavelet transform and artificial neural network

Huge data has been produced in power plant as mass sensors are equipped. So, attempt to reserve all the real-time data is impossible. In order to solve this problem, an integrated data compression scheme is proposed. Data are compressed and reconstructed by wavelet transform and radial basis function neural network approach. The actual real-time data of power plant are used to test the method. The experiment indicates that this method can reach high compression ratio for its two level compressions and is suitable for real-time data compression.
