All 6 species of the genus Tambinia Stal, 1859 in China are reviewed, including 1 new species, T sinuata sp. nov. from Yunnan Province. Morphological descriptions, illustrations, molecular characteristics of the mitochondrial COI gene and an identification key for Chinese Tambinia species are provided. Pairwise distances, calculated by the Kimura-2-parameter model among the Tambinia species examined, ranged from 0.0306 to 0.1072. Type specimens are deposited in the Entomological Museum, Northwest A & F University, Yang ling, Shaanxi Province, China (NWAFU).
