摘要

Accurate fault line selection and location is key point to ensure fast recovery of power supply while fault occurs. Firstly, we analyzed the characteristics of traveling waves produced by fault in the single-ended radial distribution power network in detail. Secondly, by synchronously monitoring the voltage traveling waves at the end of each branch, the arrival times of the first transient traveling wave were acquired by optimizing and utilizing wavelet analysis. On the basis of the above work, a new fault feeder selection scheme on this was proposed. The proposed scheme establishes a matrix of the time difference of arrival (TDOA) among the first transient traveling wave of every feeder. Moreover, another matrix was established according to the actual time difference when fault occurred. Choosing the fault feeder by calculating the rank of every feeder's matrix and using the first transient traveling wave can realize fault location. Experimental results show that the proposed scheme has a high accuracy in selecting the fault feeder and location even if considering the situation of time synchronism error and so on.
