摘要

The feasibility of aberration multiplexing in microholographic recording was investigated through numerical simulation. Such multiplexing is carried out by changing the aberration of beams for recording and readout in multiple states. In the recording operation, multiple microholograms are recorded at the same position of the recording medium by changing the aberration of the recording beams. In the readout operation, each of the multiple microholograms is selectively reproduced by changing the aberration of the readout beam. Readout signal simulation has demonstrated that the multiplexing of eleven bits is feasible when no aberration, two spherical aberrations with opposite signs, four coma aberrations with two opposite signs and two different directions, and four astigmatic aberrations with two opposite signs and two different directions are combined together. It is expected that a terabyte-order recording capacity will be achieved in microholographic recording by further combining this technology with three-dimensional recording technology.
