摘要

A novel automatic repeat request protocol called cooperative ARQ protocol was studied, which exploited cooperative diversity. A relay terminal was requested to retransmit an erroneously received packet in the proposed protocol. Two kinds of cooperative ARQ protocols were considered: cooperative simple ARQ and cooperative hybrid ARQ. In the cooperative simple ARQ protocol, the receiver discarded the initial packet transmitted by the source terminal when receiving the retransmitted packet from the relay terminal. While in the cooperative hybrid ARQ protocol, the receiver combined the packets from both the source terminal and the relay terminal. The performances of the two kinds of cooperative ARQ protocols were analyzed in slow fading wireless channel. The results show that the data linker layer packet loss rate is decreased and the system performance is improved in the cooperative ARQ protocols, compared with the traditional ARQ protocols.
