摘要

Prefabricated vertical drain (PVD) was introduced into the scheme to flush the contaminated soil. An analytical solution for contaminant extraction using PVD-enhanced system arranged in a grid pattern is developed. The rows of PVDs are simplified into rows of equivalent sand-wall. The results obtained by the proposed analytical solution are in good agreement with the published experimental data. An illustrative example is presented to investigate the influence of key parameters on the efficiency of the soil remediation. The results show that increasing the injection/ extraction rate can improve the efficiency of the soil remediation. When the injection rate is increased from 0.002 m3/h to 0.2 m3/h, the time needed to attain a 90% clean-up level decreases by about a factor of 100. The results also indicate that shortening the distance between the injection sand-wall (ISW) and extraction sand-wall (ESW) can expedite the remediation process. The proposed analytical solution is relatively simple to apply and can be used for evaluating experimental results and verifying more complex numerical models.
