A sequencing model for wafer fabs was designed based on their sequencing characteristics. A four-layer ant colony optimization-based sequencing method was then developed. The method is fast and provides global optimization. Simulations based on an actual wafer fab show that the method could calculate the sequencing plan within a the reasonable time.
