A comparative study of synthesized and commercial A-type zeolite-supported Pt catalysts for selective CO oxidation in H-2-rich stream

摘要

The catalytic performance of Pt/A-type zeolite has been investigated for the preferential oxidation (PROX) of CO in H-2-rich stream in the temperature range of 100-300 degrees C and lambda = 2. The NaA zeolite was synthesized by sol-gel process and microwave heating technique and compared with the commercial one. The results indicated that both synthesized and commercial NaA zeolite-supported Pt catalysts gave similar CO conversion profiles. CO was completely removed at temperatures of similar to 200-220 degrees C, whereas the maximum selectivity (similar to 80%) and CO conversion of similar to 95% were obtained at a temperature of similar to 160 degrees C. The effects of H2O and CO2, present in the simulated reformate stream, on the catalytic performance were also studied. It was found that CO2 had no significant effect on the conversion, while H2O depressed the selectivity and conversion of both Pt/A-type zeolite catalysts.
