A new synthetic approach for the synthesis of pyrrolo[3,2-b]indoles has been developed in two steps. First step involves electrophilic iodocyclization of protected 2-alkynylanilines to regioselective formation of pyrroles followed by copper catalyzed intramolecular C-N coupling.
