ASSESMENT INSTRUMENT FOR BACK POSTURE KNOWLEDGE: PE TEACHERS' OPINIONS

The objectives of this study were to assess the views of the physical education teacher about an instrument for the assessment of postural health and to determine its relevance in the courses of mandatory secondary education, with the intent to study the content validity of the assessment instrument. The sample was composed of 34 physical education teachers of mandatory secondary education in Murcia, Spain. A selective methodology was used, utilizing a survey in the format of a questionnaire with two parts: the :Postural Health Questionnaire", which was designed and validated in a previous study, and the "General Assessment Questionnaire", for a qualitative assessment. The data were processed with descriptive statistics. The results demonstrate that the implementation of the questionnaire is relevant for first-year mandatory secondary education and that it is an important tool to assess knowledge about postural health in secondary education. Qualitatively, the understanding of the questionnaire and its usefulness are highlighted; however, the length should be reduced and its visual format should be improved.
