Let A be an m x m complex matrix with zero trace and let epsilon > 0. Then there are m x m matrices B and C such that A = [B,C] and parallel to B parallel to parallel to C parallel to <= K(epsilon)m(epsilon) parallel to A parallel to where K-epsilon depends only on epsilon. Moreover, the matrix B can be taken to be normal.
