摘要

The preparation of ZSM-5-type zeolite membranes using a new process on the outer surface of a porous alpha-alumina ceramic tube of 18 mm i.d. and 20 mm o.d. has been studied. The influence of the alkalinity of the synthesis sol on the formation of the membrane has also been examined. The results indicate that using the additional procedure of sol preadsorption favors the formation of the zeolite membranes in crystal intergrowth. Lower alkalinity can form the zeolite membrane in highly interlocking large crystals. Combining both the sol preadsorption and repeating crystallization for four times, a continuous densified ceramic-zeolite composition membrane with thickness of ca 25 mu m was well-developed. The gas transport of H-2 and N-2 through the ceramic-zeolite composite membrane takes place predominantly by Knudsen flow.
