摘要

A potential energy surface for the ground-state hydrogen molecule is constructed, which includes nonadiabatic, relativistic, radiative and hyperfine corrections. A new interpretation is given to the "exotic" level E(14,4), very close to the molecule's dissociation limit. Hyperfine proton-electron spin-spin interaction not only splits the atomic ground state but it also changes the long-range part of the related potential. As a result, the level E14,4 is converted into an extremely narrow resonance with lifetime of over 5 minutes.
