摘要

This article introduces a probabilistic particle movement in conventional particle swarm optimization wherein each particle position is updated either based on pbest or gbest, but not as a resultant of pbest and gbest as in conventional particle swarm optimization. The proposed concept is termed as probabilistic particle swarm optimization. The proposed concept is first verified on a set of standard test functions and compared with existing methods. The probabilistic particle swarm optimization technique is then employed for the feedback controller design of a boost type DC-DC converter. Computed results supported by experimental evidence at different operating points of the DC-DC converter system confirm the effectiveness of the new algorithm.
