Discrimination of Xylose O-Glyeosylation Sites in Mammalian Proteins

摘要

A method for discriminating xylose (Xyl) O-glycosylation sites from other sugar modification sites was proposed. Xyl modification sites were detected by position-specific scoring matrix (PSSM) with 97.9 and 87.5% success rates in self-consistency and 5-fold cross-validation test, respectively. Glycosyltransferases concerned with Xyl modification were thought to recognize amino acid sequences around modification sites.
