摘要

Monodisperse and uniform ZnO microspheres were synthesized via an ultrasound irradiation method. The microstructure and morphology of the as-prepared sample were characterized by x-ray powder diffraction, Fourier transformation infrared spectra and scanning electron microscopy. The results indicate that the size of ZnO microspheres was strongly affected by the Zn(NO3)(2)center dot 6H(2)O. As the amount of the precursor increased, the diameters of the ZnO microspheres can be turned from similar to 500 nm to similar to 2 mu m. The electrical properties of the varistors ceramics prepared from the as-obtained ZnO powders were investigated. The results show that the varistors ceramics made from ZnO with a size of similar to 500 nm and sintered in air at 1150 degrees C for 2 h possess a density of 5.50 g/cm(3) corresponding to 95.1% of the theoretical density, with breakdown voltage of 280.9 V/mm and nonlinear coefficient of similar to 61.3.
