摘要
A new and an efficient synthesis of 4-imino-3-(arylidene)-azetidine-2-thiones is reported. The reaction of arylidenemalononitriles with phosphorus pentasulfide and ethanol affords the title products in good yields. Elemental analysis, infrared, H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR and mass spectral data elucidated structure of newly synthesized compounds.
