A Wideband High Efficiency Water Planar Inverted-F Antenna

This paper presents a novel water planar inverted - F antenna (PIFA) with wideband and high efficiency property. The distilled water patch is used to replace the metal patch as the radiation and short circuit structure of the PIFA. The broadband of this PIFA is caused by multiple resonances. This antenna achieved a wide bandwidth from 2.28GHz to 3.45GHz more than 40% impendence bandwidth around the center frequency. This antenna can get a high radiation efficiency from 60% to 90% over the operating frequency.
