摘要

The paper proposes a concentric micro/nano journal bearing, which is formed by the physical adsorption of the lubricating fluid to the journal surface at a specific area. A corresponding analysis was presented. It was found that there is an optimum condition for the load-carrying capacity of the bearing for a given operating condition, and when the physical adsorption of the fluid to the journal surface in the inlet zone is stronger, the load-carrying capacity of the bearing is higher but its friction coefficient is lower. This bearing shows great application values in micro electromechanical systems (MEMS).
