摘要

Electromagnetic waves are known to have harmful effects for both sensitive electronic equipment and also for human health. These harmful effects can be in minor as well as major sizes, which can also cause serious economical losses. To prevent the negative effects of electromagnetic waves, shielding is necessary. Electromagnetic shielding can be described as prevention of electromagnetic radiation transmission by a material. In this paper, possibilities for producing textile materials with copper core yarns for the purpose of electromagnetic shielding were investigated and shielding characteristics of woven fabrics produced with (Cu/Co) yarns were studied. The effects of yarn count, fineness of the core filament, weft density and wave frequency on the electromagnetic shielding effectiveness of woven fabrics were investigated. The results have shown that yarn and fabric parameters as well as the wave frequency have significant effects on the shielding effectiveness of conductive woven fabrics. Up to 44,4 dB shielding effectiveness was obtained with the woven fabrics investigated in this research.
