摘要

Auxins, mainly represented by indole-3-acetic acid (IAA), are class of phytohormones that play a key role in the regulation of many aspects of plant growth and development. The results of biochemical and genetic data indicate, that auxin could be synthesized from tryptophan, or independently of this amino acid. In plants, four parallel tryptophan-dependent pathways of IAA biosynthesis have been suggested, named from intermediates indole-3-acetaldoxime, indole-3-pyruvic acid, indole-3-acetamide, tryptamine. Despite of common presence of auxin, identification and characterization of many genes and enzymes involved in their biosynthesis, their biosynthetic pathways remain poorly understood. Until recently it was thought that genes TAAVTAR (Tryptophan Aminotransferase of Arabidopsisl/Tryptophan Aminotransferase-Related) and YUCCA are distinct elements of IAA biosynthetic pathway. However, the results of recent research suggests, that proteins encoded by these genes are involved in the same metabolic pathway. In this paper, we summarized the latest information about characteristic components of tryptophan-dependent auxin biosynthesis and systematized knowledge of the process.
