A Novel C plus plus Teaching Method Based on Game Mode and ACM/ICPC

Interest is the best teacher. Teaching practice proves that the role of game teaching lies in that it not only effectively imparts knowledge, but also cultivates students' non-intellectual qualities. Given some problems of the traditional C++ teaching, in this paper, we have proposed a novel C++ teaching method based on the game mode and the ACM/ICPC. Some principles and characteristics of the exercises for the C++ course are presented. Also, some merits and features of our reform method are analyzed in detail. Our proposed reform method significantly improves both the teaching quality and the teaching level. Also, the method is highly praised and generally welcomed by the students and it is a good example on reform and exploration of C++ teaching. Therefore, applying the idea presented in this paper to the C++ teaching conforms to the purpose of this exploratory experimental project, which not only improves the enthusiasm and the hands-on ability of the students, but also cultivates their innovative abilities.
