摘要
This paper describes a configurable transceiver which can realize multiple operation modes to meet various fiber communication standards. With this configurable architecture, the transceiver can operate in 2:1, 3:1, 4:1, 5:1, 6:1, 8:1, 10:1 multiplexing modes and 1:2, 1:3, 1:4, 1:5, 1:6, 1:8, 1:10 demultiplexing modes with internal synchronized clock signals. Comma detection and word alignment circuits are also included in the receiver to meet the standards using 8B/10B code. This configurable multi-mode transceiver has been implemented in a 0.25 mu m CMOS technology.
