A symmetric construction of the compact real form of the Lie algebra E-8

We give a new, symmetric construction of the compact real form of the complex Lie algebra E-8. In this construction, the Lie product is determined using an irreducible subgroup of shape 2(5+10).GL(5)(2) of the automorphism group of E-8.
