摘要

We report strong visible photoluminescence (PL) at room temperature from BN and Si nanometer-sized particles prepared through chemical vapor deposition (CVD) in the pores of zeolite NaY and ZSM-5. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetry analyses (TG), and UV-Vis absorption. Analysis of PL spectra leads us to propose that the Si and BN nanometer-sized particles, a kind of quasi-direct-gap semiconductor transferred from indirect-gap materials by encapsulation method, are possible origins of the strong FL.
