摘要
This paper concerns the derivation and preliminary analysis of a model for judder in devices such as brakes and clutches. The model is based on the competition between wear and thermal expansion which, in the multiple-pin configuration proposed by Barber (1969, Thermoelastic instabilities in the sliding of conforming solids. Proc. Roy. Soc. (London), A312, 381-394), leads to a novel, non-local dynamic contact problem.
