摘要

The heat transfer and friction characteristics of heat exchangers having sine wave or sine wave-slit fins were experimentally investigated. Thirty-eight samples having different waffle heights (1.5 and 2.0 mm), fin pitches (1.3 to 1.7 mm), and tube rows (one to three) were tested. Results show that the sine wave-slit geometry provided 20% higher heat transfer coefficients and 44% higher friction factors than the sine wave geometry. The j/f ratios of the sine wave geometry, however, were higher than those of the sine wave-slit geometry. Within the present geometric variations, the effect of waffle height on the heat transfer coefficient was not prominent. The effect of fin pitch on j and f factor was also negligible for sine wave fin. For sine wave-slit fin, however, both j and f factors increased as fin pitch decreased. New correlations were developed based on the present data.
