摘要
Eu2+- doped Ba-2(Mg, Zn ) Si2O7 were prepared by a solid-state reaction. All samples appeared white in body and remained with a single monoclinic phase. Monitored by 505 nm emission, the excitation spectra were composed of three bands centered around 256, 290, and 323 nm in the ultraviolet region and two bands at about 150 and 190 nm in the vacuum ultraviolet ( VUV ) region. The excitation around 190 nm was dominated in VUV region and the strength became reduced while it was enhanced in the ultraviolet ( UV ) region with the increasing Zn2+-content. It could be ascribed to the ZnO4 tetrahedra associated with the absorption of UV photons and the MgO4 tetrahedra of VUV photons. Green emissions peaking around 505 nm due to Eu2+ 5d-4f transitions were observed both under 254 and 172 nm excitations. The emission intensity increased under 254 nm excitation as decreased with 172 nm excitation along with the increasing Zn2+- content and this was consistent with the excitation characteristics.
