Microwave Formation of Polypyrrole/Ag Nano-Composite Based on Interfacial Polymerization by use of AgNO3

摘要

Polypyyrole (PPy)/Ag nano-comoposites were successfully synthesized under microwave irradiation based on interfacial polymerization in a water/chloroform interface. The microwave synthesis does not require any oxidizing agent for polymerization. The formation of PPy was identified by absorption spectroscopy showing a band at 464 nm. XRD measurement confirmed characteristic peaks for fcc silver and presence of PPy at two theta 23 degrees suggesting the formation of PPy/Ag nanocomposite. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images showed non-aggregated spherical Ag nano-particles of about 20 nm.
