In this paper there are presented the properties of reinforcement structure affecting the formation of discontinuity in reinforcements used in the form of preforms (sinters or compacted short fibres in the form of felt) employed in the production of composite materials of the exsitu group (composites with saturated reinforcement). The analysis included three reinforcement structure parameters: reinforcementpreform strength, porosity and reinforcement permeability.
