摘要

In this work, the mechanical properties of poly-vinyl chloride (PVC) from waste electrical wires were evaluated. The waste was composed of 60 wt% PVC, 30 wt% PE, 7 wt% rubber and 3 wt% metallic fraction. The metal was removed manually. PVC was recovered using flotation method. Six PVC/waste blends were prepared. Tensile tests were performed on PVC and blends. Both strength and ductility were reduced as the waste content increased. The reduction in mechanical properties was caused by several heterogeneities present in the blends.
