摘要
This study refers to a semi-detailed soil survey in the watershed of the Bengala River, Cachoeiras de Macacu, Rio de Janeiro state, Brazil. The objective was to characterize, classify and map soils in an area of 1991.89ha, according to slope and altitude, based on digital elevation model (DEM). The definition of the map units was done by using a planialtimetric map, DEM, and slope, associated with visual interpretation of ALOS images. For the fieldwork, a GSP was used for global positioning and data collection. Thirteen sites were sampled, with 10 complete profiles and 3 extra samples. The soils were evaluated for their morphological, physical and chemical properties. The soil classes identified in the area were: Red Latosol (Ferralsols; RL), Red Argisol (Lixisols; RA), Red-Yellow Latosol (Ferralsols; RYL), Yellow-Oxisol (Ferralsols; YL), Yellow Argisol ('Lixisols; YA), Haplic Cambisol (F'ambisols; HC), and Fluvic Neosol (Fluvisols; FN), They were distributed into 5 map units. The most representative units were HC (779.21ha) and RYL (58747ha), which were relatively homogeneous in terms of soil properties. These two units were followed by associations of RL+RA and YL+YA, with a total of 425.94ha. The unit NF occurred in the floodplains and along the Bengala river bank with 201.31ha. The application of DEM associated with visual interpretation of the ALOS image enabled to reach a higher minimum mapping area without this tools and, thus, a more detailed survey. The semi-detailed survey proved to be an important step for inventories of land use, as well as for usage recommendation at the watershed level.
