摘要

Characteristics such as broad scale, complicated systems, open environments, and dynamic features produce difficulties in the management of large, complicated group projects. By efficiently acquiring, transferring, integrating, storing, and sharing all the resources for information in relevant projects, knowledge management organizations and individuals can dramatically reduce management complexity, leading to integrative and systematic management in large and complicated group projects. Research on project knowledge management combines project management and knowledge management and is generally conducted from three perspectives: technique, action and combined perspective. There has been increased interest in the related literature, but systematic studies of project knowledge management are limited. Based on a case study of the World Expo 2010 Shanghai China, this paper identifies four important features in the knowledge management of large, complicated group projects: the systematic approach, endogeneity, flexibility, and timeliness. This paper contributes to the development of a theoretical framework of knowledge management for large and complicated group projects and provides useful guidance for practical applications.
