摘要

Micro-piles pressure grouting for the treatment of soft soils often induces high excess pore water pressure and limits the efficiency of the improvement. To take advantage of the higher excess pore water pressure, a ground improvement method was proposed for treatment of soft soils. Prefabricated vertical drains (PVDs) were installed between adjacent micro-piles. The method of micro-piles combined with PVDs changes the grouting into a radial accelerated consolidation process that increases improvement efficiency significantly. This paper describes a numerical study using finite element analysis to examine the performance of the method. It has demonstrated that the installation of PVDs significantly improves the dissipation of excess pore water pressure of soft soils. Based on the research results, the treatment appears to be practical for soft soils improvement and has many advantages over conventional micro-piles grouting.
