摘要

Magnesium boride, a widely known superconductor, was converted from crystals to nanotubes whose diameter was approximately 5 nm by a hydrothermal reaction in an autoclave containing aqueous NaOH solution of 25 mol L-1. The reaction time and temperature were varied to determine the optimum conditions for nanotube formation. This investigation revealed that at a temperature of around 170 degrees C with a reaction time of 170 h, magnesium boride nanotubes could be successfully synthesized. These nanotubes could then be purified using a dielectrophoretic manipulation to selectively capture them, thus providing a high purity sample for future investigations into their physical properties.
