Stepwise Synthesis and Crystal Structure of an (Au4Co2III)-Co-I Hexanuclear Complex with D-Penicillaminate and Bis(dicyclohexylphosphino)ethane

The stepwise synthesis of (Au4Co2III)-Co-I complex with D-penicillaminate and 1,2-bis( dicyclohexylphosphino) ethane, [2](2+), via metalloligand approach, together with single-crystal X-ray analysis of nitrate salt, [2](NO3)(2), is reported. [2]( NO3)(2) adopts normal alternate arrangement of cations and anions in crystal, which is different from non-alternate arrangement in corresponding (Au4Co2III)-Co-I complex with D-penicillaminate and 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino) ethane.
