BODY FAT WITH ELECTRICAL BIOIMPEDANCE IN THE TEACHING AND NON-TEACHING PERIODS

This paper study objectives are the changes at the body fat of teenagers between the teaching and non-teaching period. 145 teenagers of two public high schools taken part in the research. 54.5% male his weight was 13.89 +/- 0.80, and the female weight was 60.53 +/- 12.64 kg. Measurements of the electrical bio impedance were made at three different dates at June, September and December of 2007. The results were obtained with Deurenberg et al.'s (1991) equation. Variance analysis (ANOVA) was used for body fat variability. Statistically significant differences in the sample's body fat were found to exist between June and September, and June and December (p < 0.001), but not between September and December, with a body fat increase of 4.72% during the non-teaching period and 0.41% during the teaching period.
