摘要

We propose a novel winding idea of dicyclic fiber coils for suppressing the thermal-induced bias drift error of interferometric fiber optic gyroscopes (I-FOGs). We use the finite-element method to analyze the thermal transient effect of fiber coil, and calculate the simulation values. Results show that the dicyclic method can effectively improve the I-FOGs' temperature performance. Experiments with different temperature change rates between -40 degrees C and 70 degrees C are performed, and the experimental results show excellent agreement with simulation values and it reaches 0.0105 degrees/h range performance. By using this method, the I-FOGs may no longer need a complicated winding.
