摘要

Mrs. Dalloway is one of the most representative poetic novels of the modernist novelist Virginia Woolf in the twentieth Century. It shows Clarissa’s death of the soul and her suppression of human nature by portraying the one day detailed life.Through intensive text reading and based on Freud’s theory of personality structure, this paper intends to analyze Clarissa’s unbalanced personality structure: namely her repressed id, obscured ego, and inflated superego, to demonstrate Clarissa’s character and personality more clearly.
