摘要

The objective of this research work is to study the potential application of activated carbon from sewage sludge to organic dye removal and develop a cheap adsorption method for wastewater decoloration using activated carbon from sewage sludge as adsorbents. The activated carbons were produced from exclusive sewage sludge by heat treatment. They were characterized by their surface area and porosity. The method was employed for the removal of alkaline-black and the influence of various factors such as pH and adsorbent dose was investigated. The results show that the adsorption of alkaline-black follows Langmuir adsorption isotherm models. It is therefore concluded that the activated carbons from sewage sludge is promising for dye removal from aqueous streams.
